I'm New to Harvest

What Will My First Visit Be Like?

Welcome to Harvest Community Church!

Our Sunday Services start at 10:30 am. You will know it’s time to start when you hear the prelude music begin! A typical service lasts about 1 1/2 hours and includes prayer, a liturgy, a sermon, communion, and a blend of more traditional hymns and worship music. (Learn more about our Philosophy of Worship here.)

We have Sunday School for all ages that begins at 9:30 am. Children ages 3 through 14 have Sunday school classes in age appropriate groups. High schoolers are welcome to join the adults Sunday School class. We do have a nursery available during the Sunday School hour for children under the age of 3.

Our congregation comes from all walks of life, and dress on a typical Sunday reflects that. We want to honor God as we gather in his presence, but people wear a wide range of clothes as they do that.

We celebrate communion every week, and communion is open to all those who know and love the Lord Jesus Christ, have been baptized, and are members in good standing with an evangelical church. We serve gluten-free bread, along with both grape juice and wine. (Learn why we celebrate the Lord’s Supper every week here.)

Location, Directions and Parking

Harvest Community Church is located in the heart of historic Midtown Omaha! Just one and a half miles west of US-75 and half a mile north of Dodge Street, Harvest is easy to access from most parts of Omaha!

Parking

Our parking lot is behind the church, on the south side of the building. We have reserved spots for visitors, but sometimes the whole parking lot is filled. We recommend parking on Cuming Street, 39th Street, or Burt Street if there is no room left in the parking lot. There is also plenty of parking across Cuming Street on 39th Street.

Entering the Building

We have entrances on both the front (north) and back (south) of the church, with greeters in both spots to welcome you and to show you where to go next!

Children’s Ministry

Harvest has a nursery for children ages 3 and under. Parents are welcome to bring their children to the nursery before or during Sunday School and the worship service. Visitors are also welcome to have their children remain with them for the entire church service.

When you sign your child into the nursery, you will be given a pager that will allow nursery volunteers to easily contact you if they need to.

During the Sunday School hour, we have classes for children ages 3 through 14. For children ages 3 through 9, a parent or guardian must sign them in at Sunday School. One of our greeters will be happy to show you where to drop your child off and where to pick them up.
