The Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms
BY: Orthodox Presbyterian Church
The Westminster Standards are the product of the Westminster assembly, which was called by the English Parliament in the 1640s with the purpose of settling matters of theology and liturgy in the church. The final product, which was completed several years later, was the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechism. The Westminster Standards has served as the confessional standards in Reformed Presbyterianism for centuries and remains the confessional standards of Harvest’s denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
